1. Secure the semi-trailer to prevent it from slipping.

Use skids to secure the tires in the front and rear directions to prevent them from slipping. Don't hang it at an inclined place. Hang on a flat road.

2. Make sure the hook has been hung in advance.

Pull out the handle to complete the panel grease lubrication and other maintenance operations, or open the fifth wheel.

Look at the throat of the traction seat, and there is no locking hook or wedge, so that the traction pin can enter and hang smoothly.

3. Check the height of the semi-trailer.

The ideal height of the sliding plate must be the same as or not less than 50mm from the trailer seat plate.

If the fifth wheel stops, when the fifth wheel leans back against the stop, it is a relatively suitable height for the semi-trailer.

4. Turn the tractor back towards the semi-trailer and stop when the drawbar contacts the front end of the semi-trailer. In the case of air suspension, the air bag shall be fully inflated. Then get off the vehicle and ensure that the drawbar is at the proper height, that is, the height at which the semi-trailer can be slightly lifted when the drawbar is directly under the semi-trailer.

To achieve the proper lifting height, raise or lower the trailer by adjusting the height of the outriggers. Finally, back up slowly until the traction seat is connected with the traction pin and the locking mechanism is automatically closed.

5. Check the locking mechanism.

Make sure there is no gap between the surface of the drawbar and the semi-trailer skid plate.

If there is clearance, the traction pin is not connected correctly. If this happens, lower the outriggers, remove the wires, and slowly drive the tractor forward until the towing seat is directly under the semi-trailer. Check the hook, including any damage caused by this incorrect connection attempt. If damage is found, the hook must be repaired or replaced before attempting to reconnect. Repeat the previous connection steps until there is no gap between the hitch surface and the trailer skid.

Verify that the handle is in the locked position.

A-Structure Traction Seat - Ensure that the handle is fully returned and the gap between the handle and the skirt is less than 25.4mm.

Type B structure traction seat safety bar is closed vertically.

Confirm that the shackle and wedge must completely pass through the throat of the hook.

6. Fold outriggers.

7. Release the parking brake and remove the skid.

Here are two points to note:

1. Regarding the suspension height - semi-trailer should not be too low or too high, otherwise the trailer seat and trailer will be damaged. When the towing seat is directly under the semi-trailer, do not inflate the air suspension airbag. This may damage the hook or the incorrect connection may cause serious injury or death.

2. Regarding visual inspection - In some areas, the law requires visual inspection and confirmation of three aspects of the locking mechanism. The combination of the tractor and trailer should not be completed before the visual inspection.
